Employers - How to Avoid a €7000 Fine

There is an obligation for all Employers to maintain a Register of Employees. As a minimum you must be capable of producing a register which must include:

  1. The name, address and Personal Public Service Number (PPSN) of each employee
  2. The date of commencement of employment of each employee
  3. Where relevant, the date of cessation of employment of each employee

Failure to comply with these requirements will give rise to a penalty of €4,000 and if the employer is a Limited Company then an additional penalty of €3,000 will apply to the Company Secretary of that company.
